The Poetry Slam team.NICOLE "Darlin Nikki" JANZEN
Janzen is a two Grand Slam Milwaukee, the wife of World Champion Haiku Slam in 2008, and a teacher of the year 2007.
She also attended the 5th National Slam teams and conducts writing workshops and 'spit poetry on street corners for readers of food donations."
Wade is considered a mainstay of the team this year and one reason Vaughn feels they can compete for the title.
He collected a large supply at the auction on Saturday after delivering a stirring poem.
RYAN HURLEY
A writer, educator and community development organization, Hurley is a member of five consecutive national Poetry Slam teams.Hurley may be no better for his work with children and as an advocate for education focused on the arts

Elijah "GENESIS Renji" FURQUAN
The youngest team member, Genesis was a pillar of the local teen poetry slam. As a member of Team Wisconsin Brave New Voices International Poetry, he attended Los Angeles in July last year.
A product of hip-hop generation, the aspiring poet said he was greatly influenced by rappers like Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli and Eminem. He is currently working on her debut album, "Money, Love & Stars."
